Collective Worship

Our worship team works hard to ensure that our worship is ‘inclusive, invitational and inspiring’.

Collective Worship

It is the law that all school children have a daily act of collective worship. As Manor is a Church of England school, our collective worship is distinctively Christian in nature. Our worship team works hard to ensure that our worship is ‘inclusive, invitational and inspiring’, meaning that everyone in our community can be present and engage with integrity regardless of personal beliefs. Students contribute to worship through supporting our Chaplain in writing and delivering the worship materials and choosing the themes that are reflected on throughout the year.

Each week, students will participate in Year Group collective worship in the hall, a form worship and three 'Thoughts for the Day'. The themes for collective worship are taken from our five year plan which ensures that all students cover a breadth of topics during their time at Manor, which develops an understanding of key themes throughout the Bible and the church calendar.

We also acknowledge key local, national and global awareness days such as Black History Month, Holocaust Memorial Day and LGBT History Month.

All students attend three eucharist services a year. These are led by Rev. Simon Biddlestone and give students an opportunity to reflect on the importance of community, and if they wish, to receive communion. All students are invited to attend voluntary eucharists which celebrate key festivals within the Christian calendar.

If you would like to withdraw your child from collective worship, please contact their Head of Year.
